Prior to joining Carson Group, Rob spent nearly 15 years at GARP Research & Securities, a highly-regarded independent research firm that provided fundamental equity analysis on small- and mid-cap companies to mutual funds and hedge funds. The last six years were spent as the Director of Research where he led a five person team known for its thoughtful, in-depth, and consistent approach to identifying compelling investment opportunities. In September 2014, Rob jumped at the chance to reunite with his former colleague, Brett Carson, to help manage existing strategies and create new ones while applying the many valuable lessons both learned from spending a combined 25 years “behind the curtain” working with several of the largest money managers in the world. Rob received his Masters of Science degree in Finance from the University of Baltimore and his Bachelor of Science degree from York College of Pennsylvania. He became a CFA charter holder in 2006 and remains active in the local Baltimore CFA® society serving as a mentor or grader during the annual investment research challenge for local university students.
Rob and his wife, Beth, live in Baltimore. When not pouring through financial statements and spreadsheets, Rob can be found cycling through the rolling hills of northern Maryland, cursing the game of golf or reading princess stories to his two young daughters, Lauren and Anna.
